"Sent" By Margaret Peterson Haddix

Sent (Missing)This is the second book in the "Missing series", and it definitely doesn't disappoint. One day 13 yeas ago a mysterious, unscheduled plane lands in a Sky Trails terminal. The weirdest part is that the only passengers are babies. There isn't even a pilot! The babies are adopted and live normal 21st century lives. Jonah and Chip are two of them. One day they go to a seminar for adopted kids, and get told that they are missing kids from history. Chip, Jonah, his sister Katherine, and another adopted guy named Alex, are thrown into the 15th century where Chip and Alex are told they are princes. They have to change history, and save Chip and Alex's lives. I couldn't put this book down. The plot starts so fast that your sucked right in.  A lot of the book is also about time travel which really intrigued me. The way that it was explained was so crazy that it made sense This book is a 4 out of 5.

Syren (Septimus Heap, Book 5) by Angie Sage

Syren (Septimus Heap, Book 5)After having read books 1-4, I was more than ready to start, Septimus Heap Syren,by Angie Sage. Like the previous books, it's mainly about Septimus Heap, the extraordinary Wizard, Marcia Overstrand's, apprentice. During a flight on Spit Fyre, his dragon,Septimus, his best friend Beetle, and his sister Princess Jenna are struck by lightning, and end up on a deserted (or so they think) island. From there the plot goes at a rapid pace with crazy, mixed up, charms, spell's, and adventure. They save people, the Castle, and friends from the past and present. Readers will not be disappointed as the series still holds it's charm. This book definitely gets a 5 out of 5.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

When You Reach MeRebecca Stead's novel starts off pretty confusing with no build up to what is happening. After a few chapters you start to understand the main character, Miranda,  and everything that is going on. First off Miranda has been getting these weird notes telling her to write a letter of everything that has happened since the beginning. All through out the book she is trying to decide whether to write the note even though the whole book is like the note.  It really is interesting to see how everything works out in the weirdest ways. When you reflect on it you can really see how it all goes together. For instance, a persons interests in present day can be a big give away of their future role. I give this book a 4 out of 5.

"Every Soul a Star" by Wendy Mass

Every Soul A StarThis book is a great story of friendship, trust, beauty, and patience. The plot begins at a mild pace in the three voices of Ally, Bree, and Jack. The three points of view really help you see the situation.  Jack is breaking out of his shell and becoming a confident person. Meanwhile Bree and Ally are practically switching places, one is moving to a campground in the middle of nowhere while the other is moving to to the city. This book is a great lesson on how to appreciate pure beauty and to do what's best for others. I would give this book a 5 if there was a sequel, but because it pretty much leaves you on a cliffhanger it gets a 4.

Young Reader Suggestions?

If you have read a good book or want me to read one so you can hear about it, I'd love your suggestions.

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

This book is the newest by Rick Riordan. It keeps you on your toes guessing what will happen next. It includes flying metal dragons, a kidnapped movie star, three friends, and a quest that could change the world. The plot begins quickly with a boy named Jason who doesn't know anything about himself, or why he is on a bus with a guy named Leo and some girl named Piper . They find themselves at the famous Camp Half-Blood (to those who read the Percy Jackson series). They find themselves to be demigods (no surprise there) , but Jason isn't your typical demigod. He doesn't speak Greek he speaks Latin, and he calls the gods by their Roman names, not Greek ones. On their quest to save Hera and Piper's dad, the famous Tristan McLean, they will encounter monsters, people that should be dead, and some just downright strange stuff. This book is busting my charts, normally a really good book would get a 4 but his book is so completly awesome that it deserves a 5!
